Residents of Draper please be on alert that Pre-revenue TRAX Trains will start running on May 28th on the Draper TRAX Extension. These trains will begin running slowly, and as the operators become increasingly familiar with the line, they will add speed until they are running a full schedule at full speed.
“Pre-revenue Operations” are the running of trains to familiarize the train operators and maintenance teams with the new extension. During this Pre-revenue period only UTA staff will be allowed to ride the trains.
Please stay safe and be alert to the trains – which will reach speeds of more than 50 miles an hour and take hundreds of feet to come to a stop, if they ever had to stop suddenly – and obey all the signs and signals, lights and gates. Remind your children to keep an eye out for trains; to stop and look both ways and listen for trains before crossing the tracks; stay off the tracks; and be cognizant that things are different in the neighborhood now that the trains will be running.
If you have any questions contact Steve Allnatt. He will research and respond to any questions you may have. Email probably is the quickest way to reach him (sallnatt@rideuta.com).
Thank you, your cooperation and patience during the construction and now through the testing and start-up periods. Your efforts certainly continue to be essential as we head for a grand opening in August.
