***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
Date: March 11, 2013
Case #: 2013-001669
Case Type: Aggravated Assault/Filing a False Police Report
Incident Location: 262 E 12300 S Draper, Utah 84020
Brief Description of Events:
On March 6, 2013 at 8:04pm Draper Police received a complaint of sharp metal pieces inside doughnuts purchased at Smith’s. The three (3) people involved were co-workers at a local business in Draper, near Smith’s. One (1) of the co-workers bit into a doughnut and discovered a sharp metal piece inside. The other two (2) co-workers sought medical attention. It was discovered they had pieces of razor blades inside their stomachs.
On March 11, 2013 Draper Police officers arrested the two (2) co-workers involved in the eating of doughnuts with pieces of razor blade inside. During the course of the investigation, Draper Police were able to determine that Carol Lee Leazer-Hardman (39 years old) and Michael Condor (35 years old) intentionally inserted broken pieces of razor blades into the doughnuts after the doughnuts had been purchased at Smith’s. They then swallowed the broken pieces of razor blades with the doughnuts in order to gain a settlement from Smith’s.
The third person involved has been cleared of any wrongdoing and it appears that she is the victim of an aggravated assault, perpetrated by her two (2) co-workers.
Draper Police have worked closely with Smith’s and appreciate their cooperation with this investigation.
Both Carol Lee Leazer-Hardman and Michael Condor have been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for aggravated assault and filing a false police report.
