Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Fire Update – August 5, 2016
Jacob’s Ladder Fire: The fire is located near the Ghost Falls Trailhead in Salt Lake County and is 15% contained. Three crews will continue to secure hand lines around the perimeter of the fire area. The fire is not threatening any structures. The human-caused fire is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement at (801) 733-2668.
Corner Canyon Fire: The fire, located near the Orson Smith Trailhead in Salt Lake County, is 100% controlled. Fire personnel will continue to patrol and monitor the fire. The Upper Corner Canyon Road is currently closed to the public for all uses, to include bicycling, pedestrians, and motorized vehicles for firefighter safety and the safety of the public. Please do not operate Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drones) in the fire area of operation for the safety of fire personnel on the ground and in the air.
Sheep Creek Fire: The fire, located on the north side of Spanish Fork Canyon, has burned 1061 acres and 100% containment is estimated for August 8. Forest Service road #042 will reopen tonight.
Fire Restrictions: There are currently no fire restrictions for the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The public is urged to completely extinguish campfires before leaving their site.
