DRAPER, Utah. – The Draper City Council members voted 5-0 against the approval of Ordinance No. 1193 amending Chapter 19-1-110(B) of the Draper City Municipal Code. If approved, this ordinance would have allowed the hiring of family members of elected officials. In the city council meeting on March 29, the council members unanimously voted against this ordinance and they all support the Municipal Code as it is written, which currently prohibits the city from hiring a relative, or the spouse of a relative, of elected and appointed officials.
