[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Garbage Service Delay - SunCrest area week of 4-3-23

Garbage Service Alert 1080x608

Additional Update 4-6-23 4:28 PM:

Garbage trucks will be in the SunCrest area tomorrow (Friday) to pick up trash and recycling. Please have your cans to the curb by 7:00 AM.

Our trucks will not be able to pick up your cans if they are in a snow bank. You will need to dig them out and make sure they are upright. The cans should not be placed in front of a snow bank because the grabbers won’t be able to reach them. Put your cans at the end of your driveway past the curb and level with your snowbank so the truck can both see and reach them. Operators will get everything they possibly can but there may still be places they can’t get to, such as circles and dead ends.

With the snow accumulation, the roads are narrow for these large trash and recycling trucks, which are about the width of a bus. If you are driving in SunCrest and see a trash or recycle truck on the road, we ask that you pull over to allow them to pass.

Thank you for your help. We appreciate your patience as we all work through this record breaking snow. Please pass on this information to your neighbors.

Residents in other areas of the city whose garbage or recycling was not picked up on your scheduled day, please contact our utility billing office at (801) 576-6303.

Important Update 4-4-23 1:39 PM:

With the additional heavy snowfall in the SunCrest area, snow plows are working hard to clear the roads and will continue to plow for the next few days. We ask all SunCrest residents to pull in their cans as soon as possible so the roads are safe and the plows have the access they need. It is necessary for us to wait until Friday, April 7 to pick up trash and recycling. Please have your cans out by 7:00 AM that day.

All other routes in the city are proceeding as usual, although pickup may occur later in the day than normal. If any additional changes are necessary, we will advise. We appreciate your patience as we make these weather-related adjustments.

Draper City Solid Waste Division

Due to the snow, our solid waste division will not be running trash and recycling routes as scheduled in the SunCrest area today (above Mike Weir Drive). If you are in the area shaded in blue on the map below, please pull your trash and recycling cans in from the curb while the snow plows are out. We will provide service before the end of the week and ask that you put your cans out beginning Wednesday morning and take them in at night. We will get to them as we can throughout the week.

Monday routes in the area below Mike Weir will be serviced today.
