Update 1/20/23 -
Draper City's solid waste division is encountering access issues for curbside garbage pickup on private roads in SunCrest due to the amount of snow accumulated on the side of roads and the narrow width of plowed space. Until access improves, residents on private roads will need to bring cans to the nearest public street for pickup. Scheduled pickup days will remain the same.
Please help spread the word in your neighborhood and offer help with moving cans if possible to neighbors who may need assistance.

Update 1/9/23 -
Severe weather has affected our Monday trash and recycling service in some of the SunCrest, Steep Mountain and South Mountain neighborhoods. Our trucks have been out since 7:00 AM and covered as many of the Monday routes as they can. With wind, rain, snow, and icy conditions, it’s become unsafe for drivers to continue in the higher elevation neighborhoods and on private streets that have not been plowed. If your trash or recycling has not been picked up by 5:00 PM today (Monday, January 9) let us know by calling 801-576-6303. Your recycling and trash will be picked up before the end of the week.
It is possible weather conditions will allow us to cover these neighborhoods on Tuesday. If not, we will return to these areas throughout the week when we can, depending on conditions, and after the daily scheduled routes have been completed. We ask that you put your cans out where we can reach them between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM.
Draper City Solid Waste Division appreciates your patience and understanding during the winter months when there are serious weather conditions, especially when there is a heavy snowfall. We are not able to access streets and neighborhoods until they are plowed and there is enough room for our garbage and recycling trucks to fit safely, including being able to extend the grabber arms to empty the cans. Additionally, if there are cars or trucks blocking our access it prevents us from servicing your cans.
If your street is missed on your regular pickup day we will return to empty cans within the same week. Our drivers have daily routes scheduled to service each area of the city and we return to missed areas after the daily routes are completed. It is a priority that we service every residence, but we can’t always guarantee a day and time that we will return.
