[ARCHIVED] Snow Parking and Removal Requirements

Snow Plow

We ask for Draper residents' help in following the City's snow parking ordinance. Snow plow drivers are encountering numerous issues with vehicles parked on the street creating hazardous situations for plows and residents. This is particularly problematic in the SunCrest and South Mountain areas. Our police department enforces parking violations as they can but during major storms officers are typically busy responding to accidents and other issues.

If you do not have enough off-street parking to accommodate the vehicles at your residence, please work with neighbors and other property owners for permission to share available off-street parking nearby during snow periods, especially with persistent snowfall like we are receiving today.

Following are City code requirements related to snow:

No parking is allowed on City streets when snow is on the ground, through April 30. Vehicles may be towed at the owner's expense. This restriction does not apply to residential streets where parking is prohibited with No Parking signage for the full length of one side of the street.

Blowing, throwing or pushing snow from driveways and walkways into the street is also prohibited.

Sidewalks abutting property must be cleared of snow within 24 hours after it has ceased falling.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation as a community to help keep roads as safe as possible during storm activity. Thank you for your help.
