[ARCHIVED] The Point — September Update

The Point

What Utahns want at The Point is coming into clearer focus. Nearly 1,800 Utahns participated in the statewide public survey about the site’s iconic feature(s). Dubbed “The Focal Point,” the iconic feature(s) will be an important and highly visible part of Utah's Innovation Community.

A majority of Utahns expressed clear support for a large architectural structure and a series of public art pieces dispersed in easily accessible parks around The Point. Many Utahns would like the public art pieces to be designed by local artists and reflect uniquely Utah themes.

In the coming months, the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority, the entity overseeing The Point development, will conduct a grassroots public engagement effort to gather input from Utahns on the criteria to be used during a public design contest for the iconic feature.
