[ARCHIVED] General Plan Update — Moderate Income Housing Plan

Public Input Square

House Bill (H.B.) 462 passed this year by the Utah state Legislature requires Draper City to update certain portions of our General Plan regarding Moderate Income Housing. Specifically, Draper City is required to update the strategies within the General Plan for providing, encouraging, and maintaining the supply of Moderate Income Housing within the City, and to create specific implementation plans for doing so. Draper City is encouraging affected entities and the public to provide information to consider in the process of preparing, adopting and implementing the amendments to the General Plan concerning moderate income housing strategies and implementation policies.

Staff is asking for feedback between August 25 and September 2, 2022 to help inform the proposed amendments to Chapter 4 of the General Plan. The draft amendments will be presented to the Planning Commission and City Council for adoption through the required public planning process. The draft plan would then be created based in part on the input received from the public as well as from initial discussions with the Planning Commission and City Council. The draft plan will be presented to the Planning Commission and be made publicly available on September 2 with the posting of the meeting agenda.

Two public hearings have been scheduled where additional public comment and feedback can be provided on the proposed amendments prior to the adoption of the General Plan Amendments by the Draper City Council. The first will be before the Planning Commission on September 8, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. Updates may be made to the draft plan based on feedback received at the Planning Commission meeting and before the final draft is included with the posted agenda for the September 20, 2022 City Council meeting and public hearing that will begin at 7:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Council Chambers. Agendas for these meetings will be posted here ahead of each meeting, and will include attachments containing additional information regarding the proposed amendments.

If you have information or input that you would like to provide to the City in the development of these amendments, or for further information, contact:
