[ARCHIVED] Utah in Extreme Drought Conditions for 2021

Slow the Flow

Draper City has taken the following action to aid in statewide drought recovery efforts:

•    The City Council approved a $250,000 investment in water conservation efforts in the city.
•    The City will be implementing Flip Your Strip – removing grass from medians and replacing with xeriscape in some areas on City property.
•    The City’s irrigation clocks were updated recently with technology that allows an analysis of weather data from a series of weather stations in an effort to water more efficiently.
•    New trees and plants going in to parks and medians are drought tolerant types requiring less water.

If you observe broken sprinklers or irrigation lines, or sprinklers running for long periods of time on city property, please contact our parks department at 801-576-6570 during business hours or 801-831-7194 after hours to report it.
