New Foot-Only Trail Loops Coming in 2021

Looking for a trail to hike with your family? Want to go trail running without worrying about bikes coming your way? Draper Parks and Recreation has a variety of foot-only trails in Corner Canyon that are great for all ages and enjoyable with no bikes allowed. Below are our most popular foot-only trails to check out.

Jungle Trail (0.15 mile section; 1 mile out & back to trailhead)

This trail opened in 2019 and was designed with young kids in mind. This adventurous trail features natural obstacles such as stump stairs, tree forts, branches to duck under, and logs to climb over.

How to get there: Park at the Carolina Hills Trailhead located at 13631 Carolina Hill Ct. Hike along the Lower Corner Canyon Trail or road that extends up the canyon, just to the left of the kiosk sign, and continue for about 0.3 miles to the clearly marked entrance on your right, after crossing over the creek. May do as an out and back or continue north along Creek View Trail creating a mile loop. 

Other notes: Dogs allowed on a leash only. Horses are not allowed. Must use multi-use trails to access the entrance of the Jungle Trail. No restrooms at trailhead.

Lupine Trail (1.75-mile loop)

This is an easy hiking trail loop in the upper southern part of Corner Canyon. The trail goes through Gambel oak and maple wooded areas, open meadows, and features open hillsides with views of Corner Canyon and Lone Peak. There is a trail connection to Ann’s Trail providing access into Corner Canyon. Great for wildflower viewing, trail running, and snow shoeing.

How to get there: Park at Silver Flower Trailhead located at 2156 E. Silver Flower Ct. The trail loop start on the east side of the trailhead.

Other notes: Dogs are not allowed due to being within the Corner Canyon Watershed Area.  Restrooms and water available at the trailhead (seasonal).

Hoof 'N' Boot Trail (2.2 miles one way)

Avoid the bike traffic by taking this beautiful trail up through Corner Canyon. The gradual climb up the trail is narrow and lined with scrub oak and maple trees. This trail crosses several multi-use trails along the way. The switchbacks eventually lead to great viewpoints overlooking Corner Canyon and Draper.

How to get there: Park at Coyote Hollow Trailhead (14212 Coyote Hollow Ct.) and then access the trail by using the Coyote Hollow/Burnham Trails. Alternatively, park at Carolina Hills Trailhead (13631 Carolina Hill Ct.) and then access the trail by using the Lower Corner Canyon Trail/Gasline Trails.  

Other notes: Dogs are not allowed due to being within the Corner Canyon Watershed Area.  Restrooms and water available at the Coyote Hollow Trailhead.

Hyde 'N' Seek (0.5 mile one way) | Phantom (0.5 mile one way) | Casper (0.25 mile one way)

These nice short trails are great for foot-only traffic and can be visited each on their own or connected together, along with Hoof ‘N’ Boot for a longer loop hike. The trails feature steps in some sections, beautiful scenery, and natural sounds, with Phantom Trail providing access to Ghost Falls.  

How to get there: Park at Ghost Falls Trailhead (2622 E. Upper Corner Canyon Rd.) and then access Phantom Trail southwest of parking lot.  

Other notes: Dogs are not allowed due to being within the Corner Canyon Watershed Area.  Restrooms available at the trailhead (no water).  Access to Ghost Falls Trailhead requires driving on 2.6 miles of dirt road (High clearance vehicles recommended).

Burnham Loop Trail (0.3 one way)

This short trail loop provides gorgeous views near the creek. The trail features a footbridge, scrub oak trees and small granite rock garden.  

How to get there: Park at Coyote Hollow Trailhead (14212 Coyote Hollow Ct.) and then access the trail by using the Coyote Hollow Foot Trail.   Alternatively, park at Carolina Hills Trailhead (13631 Carolina Hill Ct.) and then access the trail by using the Lower Corner Canyon Trail/Gasline Trails.  

Other notes: Dogs are not allowed due to being within the Corner Canyon Watershed Area.  Restrooms and water available at the Coyote Hollow Trailhead.

Telegraph Trail (0.9 miles one way)

This trail on the upper west side of the Suncrest neighborhood features great views of Utah Valley with views of historic telegraph poles from the path. The trail ends in the bottom of South Maple Hollow drainage.   

How to get there: Park at Maple Hollow Trailhead (15182 S. Elk Glen Dr.) The trail starts at the end of Deer Ridge Drive on the left (east side).  

Other notes: Dogs allowed on leash. No restrooms available at trailhead.
