[ARCHIVED] Mayor's Message: COVID-19 in Draper

covid-pic square

Draper residents - We are experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases in our city. On September 1, our seven-day rolling cumulative case count was 34 – and now it is 129, an increase of 380%. Draper has jumped into one of Salt Lake County’s communities with the highest cases. This jump took place in less than two weeks. The majority of the increase in cases were ages 15-19.

We need to work together to keep our families and friends healthy. Our teenagers need to especially take care to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 as they attend school. Please remember to do the following:

  • Wear your face covering. If you are a student, keep your face covering on if you go outside to socialize with others during the school day.
  • Keep six feet apart from others if you cannot wear a face covering.
  • Stay home if you feel sick.
  • Keep good hygiene and wash your hands often.

Corner Canyon High School Head Football Coach Eric Kjar joined me to share this important message.

Thank you for helping us mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
