PUBLIC HEARINGS 

Amending the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget: APPROVED

The council approved amending the budget for telecommuting equipment, the Jordan River boat launch parking lot, and 800 East building.

ACTION ITEMS

Vacancy on the Traverse Ridge Special Service District Administrative Board: APPROVED

This action was to fill a mid-term vacancy and appoint a member to the administrative control board. Three candidates were interviewed at the June 2 meeting. The council appointed Daryl Acumen to fill the mid-term vacancy on the Traverse Ridge Special Service District Administrative Control Board.

2020 Traverse Ridge Special Service District Certified Tax Rate: APPROVED

The council adopted the certified tax rate for 2020 with a 0.000501 as the equalized property tax rate.

Fiscal Year 2021 Draper City Budget and Certified Tax Rate: APPROVED

The council adopted the FY 2021 annual budget and certified tax rate for Draper City, with the equalized tax rate as 0.001227. This was approved with the inclusion of $140,000 for leasing the sewer district building.

Temporarily Closing Upper Corner Canyon Road to Vehicular Traffic: APPROVED

On the recommendation of the Draper City Fire Department, the Upper Corner Canyon Road starting at the Orson Smith trailhead will be temporarily closed to all vehicles, effective Wednesday, July 1. This is to help reduce the risk of fire ignition in this area as we enter the summer months, and help ensure our fire department has emergency access to the area if needed. If the Orson Smith trailhead parking lot is full, please park at the Andy Ballard Arena (equestrian center) on 1600 Highland Dr. For access to the trailheads for Lone Peak, consider parking at Silver Flower Ct. near the Lupine Trailhead.

Creating the Draper City Audit Committee: APPROVED

Upon the recommendation of the Utah State Auditor, Draper City staff is proposing the creation of the Draper City Audit Committee. The Audit Committee’s primary responsibilities are to advise the City Council on the annual audit of the City’s financial statements, provide oversight of the integrity of the financial statements and reporting processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
