ACTION ITEMS
Vacancy on the Traverse Ridge Special Service District Administrative Board: ITEM CONTINUED TO JUNE 2 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
This action was to fill a mid-term vacancy and appoint a member to the administrative control board. One candidate had applied for the vacancy. The council decided to re-initiate the application process to allow for more opportunity for others to apply. This will include posting new signage, republishing a notice in the newspaper and posting on the website by June 2.
City-Initiated Grading and Slope Text Amendment: APPROVED
Draper City is looking to update the regulations of the Draper City Municipal Code Title 9 related to grading and slopes on properties. A number of development projects that are currently under construction in the city have raised concerns that the buildings currently being built may exceed the maximum building height limit. The common factors for each of these projects are that the sites have been raised or fill and retaining walls have been added that cause the sites to sit higher than the abutting street. This causes the buildings to appear taller than they really are when viewed from the street. Based on staff analysis and reviews of the construction projects, a number of text changes to the municipal code are proposed in order to better handle development projects that require added fill, retaining walls, and slopes. The Planning Commission reviewed this item at their April 9, 2020 meeting, and forwarded a positive recommendation on a 5-0 vote.
PUBLIC HEARING
Big Willow Creek (491 W. 11400 S.): APPROVED
The applicant requested to consolidate all of their property into a single development agreement and amend how the approved number of dwelling units on 20.9 acres of the property can be allocated. The proposed modification would allow for the units to be spread across the property rather than limited by specific zoning districts. It would also allow the applicant to begin construction of subdivision improvements such as utilities and streets.
