The Draper Finance Department has released this year’s version of the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The PAFR is a document to help give citizens a basic understanding of how the City is doing financially, and the City is doing well. The information found within this report is a mixture of information presented in the independently audited Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the current FY20 budget.
Revenues from sales taxes continue to be the largest source of revenue for the City. In the fiscal year 2019, sales tax had a record year. It provided 169% more revenue than property tax. These strong numbers are what has allowed the City to refrain from increasing property taxes since 2007, despite many surrounding cities increasing their property tax rates. As shown in this report, Draper residents receive a high value of services for the dollars they pay in property taxes.
