Draper City held a Swearing-in Ceremony to official swear in the new Draper Mayor Troy Walker and two Council members: William Rappleye and Jeff Stenquist.
The City Council Chambers were at capacity and filled with family members, friends and community members. Kenzie Hall, winner of the Draper Idol competition, sang "God Bless America" and she encouraged the attendees to join in with the singing. Retiring Mayor Darrell Smith thanked the community for their support during his term as Mayor and gave Mayor Walker some suggestions on being mayor.
Rachelle Conner, Draper City Recorder, read the Oath of Office individually to Mayor Walker, Councilman Rappleye and Councilman Stenquist. Each new elected official gave a short talk.
James Walker from the Mayor's Youth Council gave a patriotic speech.
