The City Council of the City of Draper hereby gives notice that a City Council vacancy has occurred, effective January 6, 2014, with the election of Councilmember Troy Walker to the office of Mayor on November 5, 2013. The City Council will meet on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the Draper City Hall, 1020 East Pioneer Road, Draper, Utah, to appoint a new Council Member who will serve until Monday, January 4, 2016.
Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. – Deadline to submit a letter of interest to the Draper City Recorder.
Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. – The City Council will, in an open meeting, interview each person whose name was submitted to the City Recorder for consideration and meets the qualifications for office. It is anticipated the Council will there upon vote to appoint a new Council Member.
The vacancy will be filled by an applicant. Individuals interested in submitting their names for consideration must be registered voters and have resided in the City of Draper for the past twelve consecutive months. The letter of interest shall be submitted to Rachelle Conner, City Recorder, at the Draper City Recorder’s Office located at the Draper City Hall, 1020 East Pioneer Road, Draper, Utah, 84020. Letters of interest shall include:
• Applicant’s name
• Applicant’s address
• Applicant’s telephone number
• Applicant’s list of qualifications
The deadline for receiving letters of interest is Tuesday, January 14, 2014, by 5:00 p.m.
