Congratulations to our Miss Draper 2022 Royalty! Lauren Carn was named as Miss Draper 2022; Shaelyn Preede as 1st Attendant; and Ashley Peterson as 2nd Attendant. They were selected on June 4, 2022 for their excellence in service, education, leadership and refinement. They were officially crowned at the City Council Meeting on June 7, 2022.
Lauren Carn, Miss Draper 2022
The daughter of Brooke and David Carn, Lauren couldn’t be prouder to call Draper her home. She is an Honor’s Deans List student at the University of Utah, having graduated a valedictorian from Corner Canyon High School in 2021. She’ll graduate from the U in 2025 with a BFA in Theatre Education, which will then be followed by an MFA. Lauren has a deep understanding of the benefits of the arts and will use this to support the Draper community through her service initiative: You Will Be Found-Improving Mental Health Through the Arts.
Shaelyn Preede, 1st Attendant
The daughter of Steve and Amy Preede, Shaelyn has loved reading from an early age and hopes to share her passion through her initiative, Literacy in Early Education. She currently attends Corner Canyon High School. After being named an Overall Entrepreneurship Finalist at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, she is excited to pursue a career in business. Shaelyn enjoys serving her community as Youth Mayor for Draper City Mayor’s Youth Council and being involved in her school as National Honor Society President, FCCLA VP of Activities, HOSA Service Coordinator, and a DECA Officer.
Ashley Peterson, 2nd Attendant
The daughter of Brennan and Suzanne Peterson, Ashley graduated from Corner Canyon in 2019, is an Editing and Publishing major at BYU and works as a nanny and at Canny Kids. Her initiative is Finding And Embracing Service Opportunities. She enjoys serving in many different ways, including running an annual Christmas food drive, leading BYU New Student Orientation, and teaching English in Thailand. She plans to promote Draper City's volunteer/service opportunities. She’s excited to engage in increased service alongside her fellow Draper residents!
